Ingredients:

  • 3 cups bourbon
  • 1 cup simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 4 cups fresh mint leaves
  • 2 lbs crushed ice
  • 24 sprigs fresh mint

Instructions:

  1. Combine the bourbon and simple syrup in a large glass pitcher. Stir gently for 30 seconds until the syrup is fully integrated.
  2. Stir in the lime juice if using. Cover and keep chilled until serving.
  3. Place 6–8 mint leaves in the bottom of each individual serving glass.
  4. Gently press the leaves against the glass using a muddler or the back of a spoon to release aromatic oils without shredding the leaves.
  5. Pour approximately 4 oz of the bourbon base into each prepared glass.
  6. Fill the glass to the brim with crushed ice, packing it down firmly with a spoon.
  7. Stir rapidly from the bottom up until the outside of the glass begins to frost.
  8. Top with an additional mound of crushed ice to create a dome effect.
  9. Garnish each glass with a fresh mint sprig.
