Ingredients:
- 2 cans (21 oz each) apple pie filling
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- Spread the apple filling in a tight, even layer across the bottom. Note: Press it down slightly to remove air pockets.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce in a zigzag pattern over the apples.
- Sift the dry yellow cake mix directly over the caramel apple layer.
- Use a fork to gently level the powder. Note: Do not stir it into the fruit.
- Pour the melted butter evenly across the top of the cake mix.
- Ensure all dry spots are hydrated by tilting the pan slightly if needed.
- Bake on the center rack for 40–45 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the top is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from oven once the center is set and no longer wobbly.
