Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (21 oz each) apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. Spread the apple filling in a tight, even layer across the bottom. Note: Press it down slightly to remove air pockets.
  3. Drizzle the caramel sauce in a zigzag pattern over the apples.
  4. Sift the dry yellow cake mix directly over the caramel apple layer.
  5. Use a fork to gently level the powder. Note: Do not stir it into the fruit.
  6. Pour the melted butter evenly across the top of the cake mix.
  7. Ensure all dry spots are hydrated by tilting the pan slightly if needed.
  8. Bake on the center rack for 40–45 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the top is golden brown and crisp.
  9. Remove from oven once the center is set and no longer wobbly.
