Ingredients:
- 1 cup Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats (Do not substitute instant oats)
- 1 cup Milk (of choice: dairy, almond, or oat)
- 1/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 tsp Chia Seeds
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrup or Honey (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract (Optional)
- Pinch of Fine Sea Salt
- 1/2 cup Sliced Berries or Banana (For topping)
- 2 tbsp Chopped Nuts or Seeds (For topping)
Instructions:
- Combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, and sea salt in a medium bowl or directly in the serving jars. Stir briefly to ensure even distribution.
- Add the milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
- Mix the contents vigorously for 30–60 seconds, scraping the bottom thoroughly to prevent the chia seeds and yogurt from clumping. The mixture will look liquidy.
- Divide the mixture equally between two prepared, sealable jars. Secure the lids tightly and place them in the refrigerator to rest for a minimum of 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
- The following morning, check the consistency. If the oats are too firm, stir in 1–2 teaspoons of milk until the desired creamy texture is achieved.
- Top with sliced berries, nuts, or seeds immediately before serving. Avoid adding crunchy toppings until the last minute.
