Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (packed) Fresh Ginger Root, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup (packed) Fresh Turmeric Root, peeled
  • 4 large Fresh Lemons, juiced (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 medium Fresh Oranges, juiced (about 1/4 cup)
  • 1/4 cup Filtered Water (to assist blending)
  • 2 tablespoons Raw Honey or Maple Syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (for an extra kick)

Instructions:

  1. Prep Roots: Thoroughly wash the ginger and turmeric roots. Remove the skin using a spoon or peeler, and roughly chop the roots into 1-inch pieces. (Wear kitchen gloves when handling turmeric to avoid staining).
  2. Juice Citrus: Extract the juice from the lemons and oranges. Set the fresh juice aside.
  3. Combine Primary Ingredients: Place the chopped ginger, chopped turmeric, and the 1/4 cup (60 ml) of filtered water into the high-powered blender jar.
  4. Blend Until Smooth: Secure the lid and blend on high speed for 45–60 seconds, or until the mixture reaches a fine, liquid pulp. Scrape down the sides if necessary.
  5. Strain the Pulp: Place a fine-mesh sieve over a large bowl. Pour the blended mixture slowly into the sieve. Use a rubber spatula to press firmly against the solids, encouraging all the liquid to pass through. Discard the remaining dry pulp.
  6. Add Final Ingredients: To the strained liquid in the bowl, whisk in the fresh lemon and orange juices, the honey (or maple syrup), the crucial ground black pepper, and cayenne (if using).
  7. Taste and Adjust: Sample the mixture. If it is too intense, add a splash more orange juice or another teaspoon of sweetener to balance the flavor.
  8. Bottle and Store: Carefully pour the finished immunity shots into individual airtight 2 oz bottles or into a single larger storage container. Seal tightly. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5–7 days, or freeze for longer storage.
