Ingredients:

  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup high-quality mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded and divided
  • 2 tbsp green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 lb jumbo lump crab meat, drained and picked
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream until completely smooth. Incorporate the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay, mustard powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until uniform.
  2. Gently fold the drained jumbo lump crab meat and sliced green onions into the cream cheese mixture using a rubber spatula. Use a 'cut and lift' motion to keep the crab lumps intact.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a 1-quart baking dish and smooth the surface. Top with the remaining shredded cheese and an extra dusting of Old Bay seasoning.
  4. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the cheese is golden-brown. Optionally, broil for 60 seconds for a toasted finish.
