Ingredients:
- 1 cup Plain, Unsweetened Greek Yoghurt (lactose-free recommended)
- 1 large Ripe Banana (~150 g), peeled and chunked
- ½ cup Natural Peanut Butter (Xylitol-Free, 100% ground peanuts)
- ¼ cup Filtered Water or Low-Sodium Chicken Stock (optional, for blending)
- 12 to 15 Small Dog Biscuits (optional, for handles)
Instructions:
- Prep Ingredients: Peel the banana and break it into 2–3 large chunks. Measure the yoghurt and peanut butter accurately.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: Add the Greek yoghurt, banana chunks, and peanut butter into the blender or food processor jug.
- Blend: Secure the lid and blend on high speed for 60–90 seconds. Stop periodically and scrape down the sides using a spatula to ensure all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Check Consistency: The mixture should be thick and completely smooth. If it struggles to blend, add the optional water or chicken stock, one tablespoon at a time, until smooth.
- Pour into Molds: Carefully spoon or pour the mixture into your chosen silicone molds or ice cube trays, filling them nearly to the top.
- Add Handles (Optional): Gently push one small dog biscuit halfway into the centre of each portion to act as a handle or a crunchy surprise.
- Freeze Solid: Place the trays flat in the freezer. Freeze for a minimum of 4 hours, or ideally, overnight, until the treats are rock hard and opaque.
- Unmold: Once completely frozen, remove the treats from the molds. If they stick, run the bottom of the mold briefly under warm water (10 seconds max) to loosen.
- Store: Transfer the finished Pup-Sicles to an airtight, freezer-safe container. Store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
- Serve: Offer one frozen treat to your dog immediately. Supervise consumption.
