Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp Coarse Salt (or fine sugar, or a 50/50 mix, for rim)
- 2 Fresh Lime Wedges or Wheels (for rim and garnish)
- 5 oz Blanco Tequila (Silver)
- 0 oz Amaretto Liqueur (e.g., Disaronno)
- 75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 5 oz Premium Orange Liqueur (e.g., Cointreau)
- Ice (As needed for shaking)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Serving Glass and Rim: Pour your chosen rim mixture (salt, sugar, or mix) onto a small plate. Run one lime wedge around the outside edge of the glass rim to moisten it. Dip the moistened rim into the salt/sugar mix, rotating gently to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
- Measure and Combine Ingredients: Using a jigger, accurately measure the tequila, Amaretto, fresh lime juice, and orange liqueur. Pour all measured liquid ingredients directly into the cocktail shaker tin.
- Shake and Chill: Fill the shaker tin completely with large, cold ice cubes. Secure the lid tightly and shake the mixture vigorously for 15–20 seconds. The outside of the shaker should be thoroughly frosted, indicating proper chilling and dilution.
- Strain and Serve: Remove the lid and double strain the cocktail (through a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh sieve) into the prepared glass (over fresh ice, or straight up).
- Garnish: Affix the remaining lime wheel or wedge to the rim of the glass. Serve immediately while the drink is still perfectly chilled.
